In these difficult times, please be aware of trading/investment scams

In these difficult times, when many people may be losing their jobs, I wanted to draw attention to share trading/investment scams.
They’re relatively easy to recognise if you’re familiar with their ways of working: they usually approach people out of the blue, offer fast or big returns, promote a lifestyle many of us wish we could have, don’t want to discuss the risks and they’re not regulated by the FCA.
Now I’m not a finance expert and don’t know the ins and outs of the regulatory work but I know that I should only deal with companies with a good public presence that are also FCA approved. If they start dodging questions, it’s a clear sign that they may be up to no good.
I was approached by someone on Reddit today offering investment account management promising returns in as little as 7 days. Their profile is full of photos of someone living a lavish lifestyle and sometimes looking at a few charts. They were super quick to respond to any question but suddenly went quiet when I asked about the FCA.
Again, I’m not an expert and some offers may be genuine. But now that many of us are struggling, it’s important to be extra careful and avoid potential scams as much as possible. The FCA has some good guidance on their website about these scams and how to avoid them. Stay safe, all.

Insuring margin account

Hi there,

My husband and I have been working on forex trading for a few years, and we are getting rather close to using trading to "retire" from traditional 9-5 jobs. Our concern, though, is that it looks like just about every US broker is uninsured and state that if the company becomes insolvent, they may liquidate all margin accounts. Oanda, for instance, states "In the event OANDA should become insolvent or file for protection under the bankruptcy laws, it is possible that you would lose the entire amount in your Margin Account. "
My question is if anybody here has found a way to "insure" the account to avoid this problem. The last thing we want is to pour our lives into it and rely on it, only to fall victim to a companies failure. I know, I know, its unlikely. But so was Lehman Brothers, and call me paranoid, but I am not one to want to rely on a corporation to put its customers first.
Thoughts?

For Canadian Clients of VantageFX (or Canadian Forex Traders in General)

As you likely already know, VantageFX will no longer service Canadians residents as of Nov 30th. This is unfortunate, since VantageFX has done an excellent job serving Canadian clients with higher leverage account options from a well regulated and trusted broker.
Through contacts in the industry, we've been made aware of a new retail account offering at Pacific Union. Pacific Union has a good history of servicing institutional accounts and has only just started taking on retail clients, but they are positioned to service the Canadian clients in the space that VantageFX has left behind.
Further, we were made aware of Pacific Union first by contacts at VantageFX, and then this recommendation was backed up by a trusted source who works closely with both companies.
Again, to be very clear, this post isn't to give undue attention to some random broker.. we are providing this info because Pacific Union is a proper alternative for Canadian based traders that will no longer be serviced by VantageFX.
On that note, I've updated the wiki to include Pacific Union Prime - https://puprime.com:
Subreddit's Canadian Brokers Wiki Page
The only major difference I have noticed so far is lacking MT5, but the word is that Pacific Union will be reviewing MT5 and other enhancements to their offing next quarter after they get past the launch of their retail offering.
Key highlights from my perspective:
Remember, going offshore means you lose CIPF protection on funds, so a well vetted and properly regulated broker is a must!
UPDATE #1: Oct 6th: Took this post off sticky and redacted some info as the connection between VantageFX and Pacific Union Prime was not "official". Pacific Union is still a great alternative / replacement for Canadian clients seeing higher leverage accounts and who are no longer serviced after VantageFX left Canada.
UPDATE #2, Oct 8th: Adjusted this thread again to best reflect where Pacific Union Prime fits with VantageFX and former Canadian VantageFX cleints.

What does someone who works for a Forex company do?

Context: Forex is big in my country (Cyprus) and it pays good, while normal jobs barely scrape by. So I wanna know if I can work at such a company but I've no idea what is it exactly that people who work there actually do.
I'm talking about the entry level jobs by the way.
So basically what is the entry level job at a Forex company and what is required for one to be successful at such a job?
Thanks!

Should I leave my semi-government company and go to a forex company?

Hi guys,
So I recently started a new job in a Semi Government organization. It is an alright job and stable industry. Yesterday my ex-manager called me and told me that he has a very good offer for me and he wants me to join a Multinational forex company that he recently joined as well. The Offer that he said can give me is more than what i am getting by a very good margin.
He already brought some of my ex colleagues (I was their manager in my previous company) and they are getting more than I am getting now.
What do you guys think?
My Visa is not even done yet. I havent completed my probation period.

Former investment bank FX trader: News trading and second order thinking part 2/2

Former investment bank FX trader: News trading and second order thinking part 2/2
Thanks for all the upvotes and comments on the previous pieces:
From the first half of the news trading note we learned some ways to estimate what is priced in by the market. We learned that we are trading any gap in market expectations rather than the result itself. A good result when the market expected a fantastic result is disappointing! We also looked at second order thinking. After all that, I hope the reaction of prices to events is starting to make more sense to you.

Before you understand the core concepts of pricing in and second order thinking, price reactions to events can seem mystifying at times
We'll add one thought-provoking quote. Keynes (that rare economist who also managed institutional money) offered this analogy. He compared selecting investments to a beauty contest in which newspaper readers would write in with their votes and win a prize if their votes most closely matched the six most popularly selected women across all readers:
It is not a case of choosing those (faces) which, to the best of one’s judgment, are really the prettiest, nor even those which average opinions genuinely thinks the prettiest. We have reached the third degree where we devote our intelligences to anticipating what average opinion expects the average opinion to be.
Trading is no different. You are trying to anticipate how other traders will react to news and how that will move prices. Perhaps you disagree with their reaction. Still, if you can anticipate what it will be you would be sensible to act upon it. Don't forget: meanwhile they are also trying to anticipate what you and everyone else will do.

Part II
  • Preparing for quantitative and qualitative releases
  • Data surprise index
  • Using recent events to predict future reactions
  • Buy the rumour, sell the fact
  • The trimming position effect
  • Reversals
  • Some key FX releases

Preparing for quantitative and qualitative releases

The majority of releases are quantitative. All that means is there’s some number. Like unemployment figures or GDP.
Historic results provide interesting context. We are looking below the Australian unemployment rate which is released monthly. If you plot it out a few years back you can spot a clear trend, which got massively reversed. Knowing this trend gives you additional information when the figure is released. In the same way prices can trend so do economic data.

A great resource that's totally free to use
This makes sense: if for example things are getting steadily better in the economy you’d expect to see unemployment steadily going down.
Knowing the trend and how much noise there is in the data gives you an informational edge over lazy traders.
For example, when we see the spike above 6% on the above you’d instantly know it was crazy and a huge trading opportunity since a) the fluctuations month on month are normally tiny and b) it is a huge reversal of the long-term trend.
Would all the other AUDUSD traders know and react proportionately? If not and yet they still trade, their laziness may be an opportunity for more informed traders to make some money.
Tradingeconomics.com offers really high quality analysis. You can see all the major indicators for each country. Clicking them brings up their history as well as an explanation of what they show.
For example, here’s German Consumer Confidence.

Helpful context
There are also qualitative events. Normally these are speeches by Central Bankers.
There are whole blogs dedicated to closely reading such texts and looking for subtle changes in direction or opinion on the economy. Stuff like how often does the phrase "in a good place" come up when the Chair of the Fed speaks. It is pretty dry stuff. Yet these are leading indicators of how each member may vote to set interest rates. Ed Yardeni is the go-to guy on central banks.

Data surprise index

The other thing you might look at is something investment banks produce for their customers. A data surprise index. I am not sure if these are available in retail land - there's no reason they shouldn't be but the economic calendars online are very basic.
You’ll remember we talked about data not being good or bad of itself but good or bad relative to what was expected. These indices measure this difference.
If results are consistently better than analysts expect then you’ll see a positive number. If they are consistently worse than analysts expect a negative number. You can see they tend to swing from positive to negative.

Mean reversion at its best! Data surprise indices measure how much better or worse data came in vs forecast
There are many theories for this but in general people consider that analysts herd around the consensus. They are scared to be outliers and look ‘wrong’ or ‘stupid’ so they instead place estimates close to the pack of their peers.
When economic conditions change they may therefore be slow to update. When they are wrong consistently - say too bearish - they eventually flip the other way and become too bullish.
These charts can be interesting to give you an idea of how the recent data releases have been versus market expectations. You may try to spot the turning points in macroeconomic data that drive long term currency prices and trends.

Using recent events to predict future reactions

The market reaction function is the most important thing on an economic calendar in many ways. It means: what will happen to the price if the data is better or worse than the market expects?
That seems easy to answer but it is not.
Consider the example of consumer confidence we had earlier.
  • Many times the market will shrug and ignore it.
  • But when the economic recovery is predicated on a strong consumer it may move markets a lot.
Or consider the S&P index of US stocks (Wall Street).
  • If you get good economic data that beats analyst estimates surely it should go up? Well, sometimes that is certainly the case.
  • But good economic data might result in the US Central Bank raising interest rates. Raising interest rates will generally make the stock market go down!
So better than expected data could make the S&P go up (“the economy is great”) or down (“the Fed is more likely to raise rates”). It depends. The market can interpret the same data totally differently at different times.
One clue is to look at what happened to the price of risk assets at the last event.
For example, let’s say we looked at unemployment and it came in a lot worse than forecast last month. What happened to the S&P back then?

2% drop last time on a 'worse than expected' number ... so it it is 'better than expected' best guess is we rally 2% higher
So this tells us that - at least for our most recent event - the S&P moved 2% lower on a far worse than expected number. This gives us some guidance as to what it might do next time and the direction. Bad number = lower S&P. For a huge surprise 2% is the size of move we’d expect.
Again - this is a real limitation of online calendars. They should show next to the historic results (expected/actual) the reaction of various instruments.

Buy the rumour, sell the fact

A final example of an unpredictable reaction relates to the old rule of ‘Buy the rumour, sell the fact.’ This captures the tendency for markets to anticipate events and then reverse when they occur.

Buy the rumour, sell the fact
In short: people take profit and close their positions when what they expected to happen is confirmed.
So we have to decide which driver is most important to the market at any point in time. You obviously cannot ask every participant. The best way to do it is to look at what happened recently. Look at the price action during recent releases and you will get a feel for how much the market moves and in which direction.

Trimming or taking off positions

One thing to note is that events sometimes give smart participants information about positioning. This is because many traders take off or reduce positions ahead of big news events for risk management purposes.
Imagine we see GBPUSD rises in the hour before GDP release. That probably indicates the market is short and has taken off / flattened its positions.

The price action before an event can tell you about speculative positioning
If GDP is merely in line with expectations those same people are likely to add back their positions. They avoided a potential banana skin. This is why sometimes the market moves on an event that seemingly was bang on consensus.
But you have learned something. The speculative market is short and may prove vulnerable to a squeeze.

Two kinds of reversals

Fairly often you’ll see the market move in one direction on a release then turn around and go the other way.
These are known as reversals. Traders will often ‘fade’ a move, meaning bet against it and expect it to reverse.

Logical reversals

Sometimes this happens when the data looks good at first glance but the details don’t support it.
For example, say the headline is very bullish on German manufacturing numbers but then a minute later it becomes clear the company who releases the data has changed methodology or believes the number is driven by a one-off event. Or maybe the headline number is positive but buried in the detail there is a very negative revision to previous numbers.
Fading the initial spike is one way to trade news. Try looking at what the price action is one minute after the event and thirty minutes afterwards on historic releases.

Crazy reversals

Some reversals don't make sense
Sometimes a reversal happens for seemingly no fundamental reason. Say you get clearly positive news that is better than anyone expects. There are no caveats to the positive number. Yet the price briefly spikes up and then falls hard. What on earth?
This is a pure supply and demand thing. Even on bullish news the market cannot sustain a rally. The market is telling you it wants to sell this asset. Try not to get in its way.

Some key releases

As we have already discussed, different releases are important at different times. However, we’ll look at some consistently important ones in this final section.

Interest rates decisions

These can sometimes be unscheduled. However, normally the decisions are announced monthly. The exact process varies for each central bank. Typically there’s a headline decision e.g. maintain 0.75% rate.
You may also see “minutes” of the meeting in which the decision was reached and a vote tally e.g. 7 for maintain, 2 for lower rates. These are always top-tier data releases and have capacity to move the currency a lot.
A hawkish central bank (higher rates) will tend to move a currency higher whilst a dovish central bank (lower rates) will tend to move a currency lower.
A central banker speaking is always a big event

Non farm payrolls

These are released once per month. This is another top-tier release that will move all USD pairs as well as equities.
There are three numbers:
  • The headline number of jobs created (bigger is better)
  • The unemployment rate (smaller is better)
  • Average hourly earnings (depends)
Bear in mind these headline numbers are often off by around 75,000. If a report comes in +/- 25,000 of the forecast, that is probably a non event.
In general a positive response should move the USD higher but check recent price action.
Other countries each have their own unemployment data releases but this is the single most important release.

Surveys

There are various types of surveys: consumer confidence; house price expectations; purchasing managers index etc.
Each one basically asks a group of people if they expect to make more purchases or activity in their area of expertise to rise. There are so many we won’t go into each one here.
A really useful tool is the tradingeconomics.com economic indicators for each country. You can see all the major indicators and an explanation of each plus the historic results.

GDP

Gross Domestic Product is another big release. It is a measure of how much a country’s economy is growing.
In general the market focuses more on ‘advance’ GDP forecasts more than ‘final’ numbers, which are often released at the same time.
This is because the final figures are accurate but by the time they come around the market has already seen all the inputs. The advance figure tends to be less accurate but incorporates new information that the market may not have known before the release.
In general a strong GDP number is good for the domestic currency.

Inflation

Countries tend to release measures of inflation (increase in prices) each month. These releases are important mainly because they may influence the future decisions of the central bank, when setting the interest rate.
See the FX fundamentals section for more details.

Industrial data

Things like factory orders or or inventory levels. These can provide a leading indicator of the strength of the economy.
These numbers can be extremely volatile. This is because a one-off large order can drive the numbers well outside usual levels.
Pay careful attention to previous releases so you have a sense of how noisy each release is and what kind of moves might be expected.

Comments

Often there is really good stuff in the comments/replies. Check out 'squitstoomuch' for some excellent observations on why some news sources are noisy but early (think: Twitter, ZeroHedge). The Softbank story is a good recent example: was in ZeroHedge a day before the FT but the market moved on the FT. Also an interesting comment on mistakes, which definitely happen on breaking news, and can cause massive reversals.

Create my own startups from my ideas or present them to managers in my company and cooperate with employeer?

Hello everyone and sorry for my english first, I am from eastern Europe. Have a life-changing dilemma, which I can't solve solely.
I have two great (as I think) startup ideas. One is related to enterntainment - I've made a very funny electric device, using microcontrollers with some electric stuff (it is not fully ready and just a proof-of-concept). I think I can sell it to people thru Amazon or something like that. Friends, that saw this unironically said, that it is 'better than orgasm', lol. The second one is financial startup idea (stocks and forex related, I've been tried trading, read numerous number of books - no luck, but I've got great software-as-a-service idea) and I didn't find existing implementation of this idea, so as I suppose I've created a really unique thing. I already programmed a website and all backend\frontend code for it and ready to make it 'live' and sell subscriptions. Both of ideas took about a year for me to do everything. I've been working on my weekends and nights after my job. Yeah, don't have a lot of personal life I am also working as a software developer in a big tech company (about 5k people around the globe) with a pretty good salary for my country. My company is very nice and focused more on people working in it, rather than on business. For example if you are sick you can just take a day off and 'compensate' it on any other days\weekends, you can come to office at 13:00 and nobody would say the word to you, so I really like my job.
So I have two options there
  1. Try to complete these ideas alone. Do all QA testing, marketing, for idea #1 - assembling 'parts' of this 'toy', shipping it to amazon, advertising, for idea #2 - advertising, payments, registration of business in my country, A LOT of qa testing (since it is financial startup with monthly-subscriptions, so it should be 100% working). As you understand result of all of it - my own company\startup and POSSIBLY hundreds\millions $ of profit. On the other hand - I can fail very hard, spend more time and money and my ideas will not be popular, since I am not a pro SEO, promoter, don't have a lot of money to promote my stuff, etc, but ANYWAY - it is portfolio, I will be not just an obvious 'employee', at least I'll try to create my own business + I can continue working in my company and get my salary for living.
  2. Try to 'cooperate' with my employeer. Make a presentation to managers and give everything to my company for 'outsource'. So my company possibly can develop it using all it's human resources (salespeople, promoters, managers, developers) and money and give me % from sales\subscriptions, they can promote all products better and I can (possibly) get a lot of $ too. But there are two problems - business is a business. My company may steal my ideas (which is unlikely, but possible), my company may deny my ideas, but managers will just say, that "you cannot make your ideas live on your own, because we have NDA, your code that you've written during your employment is company's code", etc. So I can find myself in a dangerous position.
If I'll try to do #1 and in case of failure #2 and let my company know, that I tried to create my own IT business - they will possibly fire me too because of contract (you have to agree everything with managers before doing any side-development activities not related to the job), so I can do only #1 or #2 and there won't be way back.
Sorry for my english once again, guys. I am thinking about everything for a week already, could someone give me an good advice?

FOREX FOREX FOREX

Hi. I'm 17 years old, turning 18 in two weeks and since I was 9, I've had a profound interest in world markets, companies, politics, economics and real-estate. It started when my dad would watch Jim Cramer on CNBC during the 2008 Recession, and that's where it grew. Since I was 11 and a half, I've been actively involved in the economies of two online games (Team Fortress 2 and ROBLOX) and have made over $15,000 since then. Not much considering it's been over 4 years since, however I think it's quite a bit, considering I started with virtually zero, literally. I would buy and sell virtual items, speculate, calculate when I think would be the most 'appropriate' time to sell it, etc. I learned quite a bit, and it made me realize how much tougher it is to self-earn, as opposed to earning with an actual salaried job. However, now that I've had experience self-earning and earning through several real life jobs and paid internships, I've begun to realize how much I dislike working for other people, and being someone else's corporate slave. I thoroughly enjoy working for myself, making my own money, and being introverted. I absorb information extremely quickly, and I am quick to make a judgement or analysis on virtually anything. I read 24/7 and I already know quite a bit on how things work. Without bragging, at 14 I predicted that Facebook would be a huge hit 2-3 years after its IPO release (this was when it first went public), and everyone around me in real life went along with what the media thought (they thought it wouldn't do well, as Facebook wasn't performing too well during its initial release, but that changed). I made the same prediction with Tesla, and most recently with crude oil this year. I learned a multitude from my gaming experience, most importantly with risk management. Never gamble more than you can afford, Always make sure that you have something to fall back on, or a very good amount leftover, always be prepared to take a risk, and even if you lose, you still have something. But yeah. How can I do this? Currently I am in college and I initially wanted to be a lawyer, but I realized how much I'd dread it. I am personally OK with working a mundane job for the next 3-5 years, as I don't spend a dime of what I earn/have, and I am very grateful that my dad is allowing me to live rent free, food expensive-free, etc. Suggestions please! PS: I would also FOREX trade as well, but that's a different story.

  1. Paid Surveys - Did you know that thousands of South Africans earn extra income by simply participating in online surveys to help local companies improve their products? Finally, now you have an opportunity to do this as well! You can find a list of the top survey sites for South Africa HERE
  2. Selling Your Photos Online - Selling photos is a wonderful way to make money online if you have an aptitude for photography. Two popular platforms that you can try are Shutterlock and Unsplash. Every platform will have different requirements, but they will all pay you in hard cash. Though the photography market is quite hectic, it’s still a good method of gaining a passive income if you’re persistent and professional. Plus, the opportunity for additional sales is higher when your photos become popular. Many companies need photos of landscapes, and we all know that South Africa has some of the most amazing scenery in the world. In some cases, a smartphone is enough to get started, depending on the stock photo site you choose.
  3. Be a Freelance Content Writer - Freelance writing is a serious online business. The internet enters most areas of our life, and the need for blog articles and various types of content is exploding. There are many kinds of online writing work, and many people need things like product descriptions or simple reviews. Before going further in this direction, you first need to set up a blog or website. This will be an amazing portfolio where you can demonstrate to potential clients or businesses that you can deliver great work. A LinkedIn profile can be created to function as an online portfolio as well. Don’t forget that many writing clients will want to see specialized work, so be sure to consider what area you would like to specialize in. The pay for online writing varies, but with some practice, you should be able to make a decent part-time income.
  4. Sell Unwanted Goods - You can sell your unwanted stuff to people who want it and make your side business a real money maker. There’s plenty of options to use for sales such as Gumtree or Amazon. Don’t forget to do some research and see what assets have recently been sold so you have a target price. If you a business, you can sell other people’s goods as well. Many people don’t have the time or patience to sell goods online, and you can do it for them. If you charge a reasonable percentage of the sales, you can make a solid business out of selling used goods online.
  5. Build a Personal blog/website - Not only can you write for companies to gain income but you’re also able to run your own blog to raise money as well. Set your expectations at a reasonable level because this job requires consistent practice and lots of patience. Bloggers make a profit, often through press coverage, advertising products, and writing sponsored guest posts. You will need to run the blog for a while before you can expect to see any profits, but it is very simple to get started. Check out some of the other ideas on this list for ways to leverage a blog for greater income, like selling drop shipped items.
  6. Legitimate Remote Jobs can Pay Real Money - Many companies are heading to a work-from-home style of business since this type of model helps save money, and eliminates the risk of illnesses. People are completely flexible while working for a company and selecting where they decide to spend their time.CrowdSource, for example, hires remote writers, editors, and other jobs that can be done easily from anywhere. Companies like Fast Chart offer work-from-home options for medical transcriptionists. You can also try seeking opportunities at LiveOps, a call center staff. You might be surprised at how much time and money you save when you work at home. There is no transit, and you can cook for yourself. Think about it!
  7. Become a Dropshipper - Dropshipping is not a strange term, especially when eCommerce is booming. Anyone can be a drop shipper since the work requires low investment at the beginning and also guarantees minimal risk. The system operates by purchasing the stock (goods) from a third party supplier or manufacturer, who then fulfills the customer’s request. You don’t have to shop or handle goods in advance because the product comes directly from the vendors whenever an order is placed by a customer. There are many dropshipping platforms out there, and some are basically free to use. You will need to figure out how to market the goods, which is where a blog or website comes in very handy.
  8. Affiliate Marketing - Affiliate marketing is a popular method of making money online in South Africa and across the world. You can sell into a variety of markets with this business model, and make money almost anywhere. You can generate revenue from product sales. In other words, affiliate marketers will refer readers to a lot of products and get a small cut from them. Once a customereader buys products, you will earn a commission. A widely known approach is to start creating your own blog in a specific niche and to establish a trustworthy community that can purchase your promotions. Unlike dropshipping, you simply get a commission and have no other responsibilities. So easy! Check out SA’s leading affiliate network – https://www.affiliate.co.za/
  9. Online Business with Etsy - Try selling DIY designs and crafts on Etsy if you’re a skilled maker. An Etsy shop is basically free to operate, and you can make real money with the platform. Once your registration is complete, you can start posting photos of your works, and people can purchase your products. There is really no limit to what can be sold on Etsy, but make sure that you are able to send your goods to other countries, as many buyers are likely to be in the EU or North America. A PayPal account is important to have and also a popular payment choice so that customers can pay you quickly. Take nice pictures of the items to help draw purchasers into a sale. Make sure that you have good customer service as well, or you won’t be selling on the platform for very long!
  10. Forex Trading - You might have heard about trading FOREX or Contract For Difference (CFD) trading. The basics of this online money-making are simple. You will choose a currency pair, and bet on the direction of one currency vs. the other. For example, you could speculate that the EURO will appreciate vs. the RAND (or just about any currency). If you are correct, and then sell the contract, you will make profits. While this might sound easy, most people who do this lose money. In addition to currency, most retail FOREX brokers will allow you to trade in other markets, such as commodities, or shares. If you are looking for a reliable income, this probably isn’t right for you. On the other hand, if you don’t mind taking on risks, trading FOREX can be extremely profitable.

7 Ways To Make Money In The Pandemic

During this pandemic, so many companies have gone bankrupt, so that many employees have been fired by the company. Entertainment places, shopping places, and even places of worship are temporarily closed. And now, there are more and more unemployed people in this pandemic. Then, how to find the most suitable job in this situation. I will provide a list of jobs that might help you, especially those of you who lost your current job.
1. Freelancers
For those of you who want to get a job without having to leave the house, you can try this job. You can become a writer, web designer, product designer, logo creator, and more. You are free to choose a job according to the skills you have.
2. Become a creator on YouTube
This job is also very suitable at this time of the pandemic. By making videos, you can make money easily. However, if you want to be paid by YouTube, you have to reach 1000 subscribers and 4000 broadcast hours. It's not difficult if you can make a really interesting video. Make the video as good as possible so that your video is fast monetization.
3. Forex
You also make money easily by trading forex. However, before you want to trade in forex, you must know how to know about trading. Because if you don't know the knowledge and procedures first, you will lose and you will not make money.
4. Become a reseller
Selling other people's products to get profit from the profit-sharing between the seller and you. You don't need to keep stock of the items you have to sell. You only need social media, you can make money by sharing product links from sellers to your social media accounts. And if later you have friends or relatives who want to buy the products that you have shared, then you will get a commission from the sale of these items.
5. Play games
Sometimes games are seen as useless for adults like us. However, who would have thought that games could also make money. By playing games, you can get money easily and quickly. There are many choices of games that you can play, and you can use them as a place to find a passive.
6. Become a Courier
Since the COVID 19 pandemic began to spread, everyone who ordered them to stay at home, avoid crowds of people, and even places of worship have been temporarily closed. If everyone is ordered to stay at home, then what about the family's food needs. One solution is to shop at an online store. When everyone uses the online shop, isn't this a great opportunity for a package delivery courier. Very profitable, right? Being a courier in this pandemic situation is a great opportunity for those of you who lose your job.
7. Become a tutor
If you know science, math, and other skills, now is a great opportunity for you. Because everyone was ordered to stay at home, all places were closed, even schools were closed. Being a teacher today is a very good business opportunity. Because all students in school all requests to study at home. And a student needs guidance. And this is your opportunity to mentor a student.

Dollar's farewell performance. Review as of 30.10.2020

Dollar's farewell performance. Review as of 30.10.2020
What is good for the greenback is good for Trump. Does the current White House tenant have a chance to keep his chair?

Can the USD index's rise right before the election be a tribute to retiring Trump?

Those Americans are so strange: less than a week is left, and they still don't know who will be the president! Financial markets appear not to understand that either. The S&P 500's fall on the eve of the election indicates that the party in power's candidate will lose. The ratings indicate the same, but the US dollar is growing by leaps and bounds, while investors know: what is good for the greenback is good for Donald Trump. Can the Republican still have a chance? Or is it the USD's farewell performance for Trump?

https://preview.redd.it/05ez9n4828w51.jpg?width=1164&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=eab79fbf5beec7a869becfef8bb8197116dc1b96
Even if we forget about the pandemic and trade wars, we'll see that a weak dollar has run all through Trump's presidency. The US' 45th president did his best to weaken the greenback, accusing China and Europe of manipulating their currencies, asking the Fed to cut rates and revive QE, and calling Jerome Powell the USA's main enemy.
In the end, things didn't go the way Trump wanted. The USD index was consolidating stably from the beginning of 2018 and up to May 2020. The strong economy helped the Fed raise rates several times, which other central banks couldn't afford. Tax cuts and deregulation became a boon for US companies and the whole stock market. That drove capital to the USA and strengthened the dollar. The trading war slowed global trading down, cut the euro's rate, and boosted demand for safe-haven assets. The greenback won all the same.

The US' 45th president will enter history books as a man who spoiled everything and as a man who first speaks and then thinks. His attempts to describe things better than they are make everybody smile and make him lose his authority. Trust is like paper: once creased, it's hard to smooth it out. Trump called the US' Q3 GDP growth "best in history" and said the year 2021 would be fantastic. However, Sleepy Biden's tax hike may "kill it all"! In fact, the US economy is now 3.5% worse than at the beginning of 2019. To get back to the previous figures, it needs to expand 15% in Q4, which is practically impossible. The current president is to be blamed for that too, as anti-pandemic measures weren't taken in good time. People say a clever man admits his faults, a cunning man blames others, and a stupid man is proud of them. Sounds true.
The key-note of Donald Trump's presidency was looking for a scapegoat. It was either China or Jerome Powell. The president's opponents would keep silent, understanding what consequences return criticism may have. Joe Biden won't keep silent. He says recovery is slowing down or even standing still, while the current high GDP value doesn't help millions of ordinary Americans who have lost their jobs.

What frightens me the most is that the new US president is neither Trump nor Biden...but Alzheimer!

Need advice/direction/understanding please!

Hello! I am new to the general spectrum of e-commerce and passive income. This will be a relatively long post, so you can understand my situation. I am 18 years old and live in a dorm at Georgia State University in downtown Atlanta. I'm interested in passive income, because a life goal of mine is to be financially sustainable without that dreadful and desperate struggle to stay afloat. I've worked in a restaurant/bar and Chick-Fil-A. I like to take opportunities to grow and I'm an extremely hard worker who's tackled many personal challenges, but these experiences always ended up d r e a d f u l for my mental health. I wish I could adapt to the physical job norm, but my personality strengths don't align with that particular field. I am currently studying business at Georgia State and have a good head start. I also have a good amount of savings in my bank account, setting me up for my journey. I am hoping to have some form of reliable income by the end of the school year in May. I have a passion to devoting myself to this work ONLY if it pays. This situation could be even more perfect for me considering my girlfriends dad owns his own small marketing company and has some decently large clients. My girlfriend's parents are also great friends with a man who literally went from dirt poor to being able to support a large family and more through marketing and he owns his own company and offers marketing internships from his company to GSU students.
To reiterate, I have nothing but time, savings, and extreme hard work to make passive income pay off and there is nothing I want more than that financial freedom from terrible jobs for people my age. I will devote my time, but only if it is worth it.
Here is where I need help. I don't want to end up spending all my money instead of using it for larger gain. I'm all for using money to grow, but I don't know where to go from there. Where should my research and time be allocated in this case? I've researched hours and hours of different sources such as Forex day trading (even my friend is making decent profits with Forex from some like $200 dollar course?!?!), and drop shipping, but seem to hit a brick wall with how much I know on the subject. Do I sacrifice more hours learning youtube and various different forms or income, or do I sacrifice more hours in one particular course or subject? I am VERY on the fence when it comes to these kinds of decisions, only because I want to make the right one. I'm fine with slowly losing a little money to gain experience, but a payment like that sure seems like a leap of faith(right?). I don't necessarily understand how to explain this business model either. I feel scared to talk about it because I understand how the profits occur, but it is the difficult talents you must possess that I do not have. I want to be able to talk about my business pursuit with my parents and have full knowledge and confidence in that what I'm doing is right. The businesses you can start through passive income are possible to be profitable, but how often does that happen and is it REALISTIC that my time I invest into this is worth it? I would hate to throw away a fantastic economic opportunity. I just need to know what direction I should be going towards considering my connections and situation. I lack the confidence to jump in, as I understand I must gain more knowledge. Another issue I face is I need to know where my knowledge and studying should be allocated. I need to know what works and how I can get there. I believe I am capable of anything as I am an extremely high achiever and have always worked hard on the things I'm passionate about. Thinking about my loved ones I'm doing this for only motivates me more and I want to prove to others that I can persevere.

If you read this entire thread.. thank you so much for your time. I promise you you've found the correct and capable person, but where do I go from here? I don't mean to sound cocky in any way shape or form, as I am just very ready to take initiative of my extra time so I don't wait around until I get a potentially crap job with low pay. I appreciate this community and I'm looking forward to hopefully getting to build connections and grow.

Lastly- I would love links, video advice, emails, and anything else to help out my education on this!
Again, thank you so much and have a wonderful day.

From accountant to BC consultant - a wise choice?

Hey there,
I'm looking to see if any accountants (I'm a Canadian CPA) made the switch from being an accountant (Head accountant, Controller, etc) to the world of Business Central consultancy?
I was working for a print-media company when COVID hit, and since the model is heavily reliant on non existent ad revenue, I was let go. I looked for 5 months for an interesting accounting position (no analyst jobs). The pickings were slim, and those that were interesting, weren't replying.
A friend who was consulting on the CRM side of things suggested that I look into ERP consulting since my accounting background would be a HUGE value add to the company. Sure enough, my accountant title got me in the door.
I've been there not too long (a week) and now I have accounting opportunities popping out of the woodwork. I've been reading non stop on Microsoft learning center and I sincerely don't know if I'll enjoy the work later on, I have no idea what lays ahead. I've been told there's little to no overtime, however, all I ever hear is how busy everyone is and how its hard to get a hold of peers. I applied for lack of opportunities and my interest in technology.
The salary is similar to what I was getting before. I'm just worried that maybe I've made a mistake and should go back to my roots. Had I not randomly applied on this job, I would have probably taken the one that is now knocking.... (Director of Finance, including hedging FOREX, Grant proposals, financing, make-to-order manu of industrial parts, low volume)
What's your take? Was BC consulting a good move for you? Do you regret leaving accounting?
Signed, confused

CMV: Regarding new economic plan that would create an open system of accountability and without increasing the debt.

Currently there are 250,000 people in Las Vegas, NV that will not be able to pay their rent for September. Let's say a total of $125,000 million dollars would take care of their rent situation. I came up with that number by dividing $125,000 by $500. I know rents are higher. This is for illustrative purposes.
This is a very difficult time for just about everyone at the moment. We are looking for answers that we just don’t have. Now is the time to come together as a unit and take part in something bigger than it’s individual parts. I am talking about a new way of financial thinking that creates a win, win, win, situation. Renters make up forty percent of households and thirty eight percent of renters are estimated to be unemployed right now. Eviction notices could be mailed as soon as next month. This is a crisis that will affect the entire country. But there is something that we can do about it, but it takes all of our voices in unity to make it happen. This is a collective action that can be implemented immediately. Now is the time to go beyond thinking out of the box and thinking out of our universe.
Big banks and financial institutions were responsible for the 2007 housing collapse which devastated the entire world economy. In 2008, the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act was signed into law, creating a $700 billion program to purchase devalued assets from banks. This was called the Troubled Asset Relief Program, or TARP. Later, President Obama would direct $75 billion in funds from TARP to help reduce interest payments for homeowners. That means homeowners received around 10% of the direct relief that banks and corporations did, according to Business Insider. It’s now time for the financial institutions to do their share and make up for the last financial debacle.
The financial markets are experiencing all time highs and billionaires got $637 billion dollars richer in the last few months. Somethings definitely out of whack here and I will show you how we fix this. I said we, meaning the millions of people around the world with one voice helping to implement The One Cent More Plan. For any financial movement to be sustainable it must be transparent for all to see where the money is being used and not exploited by a few. That’s why no one organization is responsible for the money involved and each transaction is in the block-chain ledger for all to see at anytime.
This is how it works for renters, landlords and the banks. For the purpose of this example let’s use Cindy as a renter who lives in Las Vegas and lost her job and can’t pay next months rent. She has notified her landlord and he is trying to be as courteous as possible, but he also has a mortgage to pay on his apartment building which has ten units. Some of the other tenants have lost their jobs as well. As you can see this is a common occurrence in Las Vegas at the moment. This is where the bank steps in as the lovable George Bailey types which they will become. I know what you are thinking. Their more like Mr. Potter than George in it’s a Wonderful Life. But you will soon see that it’s in their best interest to be more like George in the long run. If you haven’t seen the movie, I suggest you do. It’s one of my favorites.
I will start with the New York Stock Exchange. The average daily volume for the last three months was 1,123,989,426 shares which equates to a staggering 22,479,788,520 shares per month. What if for each share an additional fee of one cent were added. This would result in $11,239,894.26 dollars per day going into the The One Cent More Plan Fund. You know at the end of each day the total amount that the fund should have simply by looking at the end of day total volume for the market. Multiply that by the number of trading days in the month and it equals 224,797,885.20 dollars. This is just one market. Now let’s say Cindy is a beneficiary of The One Cent More Plan Fund which is setup for the sole purpose of assisting with rent for those who can’t pay. Her rent was 750 dollars she would receive 500 dollars for rent and nothing out of her pocket. But Cindy wouldn’t get a direct payment. She would receive a receipt contract from her bank with a block-chain transaction number which she can look up on the internet to verify that it had been paid. Her landlord would also receive from his bank a receipt contract only because he owes the bank his mortgage payment. If he had no mortgage the payment would go directly to him. His payment would also be on the block-chain. So, Cindy’s rent is paid for the month of September. Her landlord is happy although he doesn’t get his normal amount of 750 dollars, it’s still better than having to go through the hassle of evicting a good tenant and ending up with no rent at all!! And the landlords bank is happy that the mortgage is being paid.
Here is the Ethereum Blockchain Ledger
So how much would it cost to do the same for the other people who can’t pay their rent. This is just one example with one market. As you can see there are no real losers in this equation. A one cent transaction fee on every stock sold is not a lot to fight over. Once Cindy finds a job she would not receive the entire $500 for rent only $300. The remaining $200 would stay in the fund to sustain it. And by the way this is a temporary transaction fee until more people get back to work and the economy starts to recover. It is estimated that $21 trillion dollars is hidden in offshore accounts by the wealthy. Companies in the United States have an estimated $2.1 trillion. If companies just brought back that money and donated the interest alone from it this would have a huge impact on the economy and not increase the national debt at all! When you don’t have customers with money to buy your product it will really begin to feel like 1929 again in a hurry. This could snowball quickly. We don’t have time for negotiations over a stimulus package. Big banks and corporations could really turn their image around and be the true heroes if they wanted to be. The money is there folks we just have to make them accountable with our voices. We have seen how social change can happen all around the world. Let’s not miss this opportunity today right now. I haven’t even spoken about the largest market in the world and that is Forex. If we just took a small portion each day from the six trillion that is traded each day it would help us stop evictions around the world and give people hope.
Banks are already using block-chain technology as we speak. This doesn’t require building brand new infrastructure. As I just showed you this can be done with existing bank accounts. Payments can be made in seconds. I can send my sister money through Zelle in minutes. Their should be no lag time as to when payments can be made. So who is going to foot the bill for making this happen. The banks of course and without any transaction fee whatsoever.
I look forward to all your comments and suggestions with an open mind.

Thanks,,

Tax help needed!

Hello everybody! I am a 21 year old student from Malaysia. I am planning to do trading and investments full time after I graduate with help from my uncle. There's a company outside of Malaysia that offers me an ROI depending on how much I invest as well as trading options for forex. Profits will be credited into my crypto wallet in the form of USDT and then sold off at my convenience into my savings account.
I just wanted to know how should I file my personal income tax, if I even should in the first place. How would I know my annual income if my profit depends on whether or not I sell off the crypto or if it depends on whether or not my trades are successful?
PS I'm just a student and I do not know much about taxes as I've never had a proper job before so any help is much appreciated. Thank you everyone!
EDIT - All transactions are done with cryptocurrency, so first time deposit for initial investment will be done by buying crypto and depositing it into the investment, then monthly profit will be done by withdrawing crypto from the investment, then sold off to buyers at my convenience.
EDIT2 - I already have an account with a small investment generating a small amount of money (below $500) monthly as pocket money for university use. Will be investing more once I graduate. Im curious as to when would I start paying taxes, considering I'm already earning a small amount of money from the investment?

I hope you get filthy fucking rich this week from oil stocks

I have a great feeling about this week. Why? Confidence in the markets. The economy has officially started to recover, in a big way.
Thursday night, my beloved cindicator gave me two signals, saying that the non farm payroll data and unemployment data would beat expectations the following morning. I loaded up on USDJPY longs and holy shit did that work to be fair I was basically break even on the week, but that forex trade felt good af.
Why did oil stocks go up Friday? Because of this data that came out Friday. I’ve never traded pennystocks and forex at the same time, so I was unaware of how these Friday reports would affect penny stocks. But let’s have a look at the data:
Analysts were expecting 9,000,000 jobs to be lost over the past month. Well, 2,000,000 jobs got added. That is a huge surprise. Analysts were also predicting 19% unemployment, and it came in at 13%. WOW. The report came out in the morning, and companies like FET went up 56% in one day lmao (oil is the best indicator of economical health, can’t prop up oil like you can with sp500 etc)
Remember when everyone was talking about oil stocks a month ago? Well, now is the time for oil stocks. With this new data coming out, it means people are getting back to work, and will probably use public transport less/ personal vehicles more (just like is happening in China)
Oh yeah, OPEC agreed to extend production cuts through July
Now is the time for oil stocks
Cheers!

I heard a live forex pitch right on my balcony.

So I was sitting out on my balcony (in an apartment complex) and out comes my upstairs neighbor. He is conducting an “interview” over FaceTime. The “interviewee” was telling him that he had lost his job due to Covid and has struggled to find employment since. So all of a sudden my neighbor goes “okay so this interview is going to go like this: I am going to tell you a little bit about what we do” and talks about how when you exchange 100 dollars of US money, you get more back when you exchange it for euros. Then he goes on this whole thing about how the Foreign Currency Exchange is a lucrative way to make income—whatever.
THEN. he says-another way to earn income is to get other people to join the “group chat” (whatever that means) this man literally says “you can have 12 people under you but you don’t have to sign up those twelve people. You sign up three people and those three people sign up three people.” ThAt Is a PyRaMiD.
This poor victim fell for the scam and sent my neighbor 200 dollars and now has to pay 176 a month which I guess goes toward trading?
Anyways I did a little digging and it’s a company called Forex and I am fairly certain it is not legal.

How To Build And Manage A Remote Team Immediately

Managers face a new challenge–managing a remote forex trader team with more and more Forex companies looking out for outsourcing. Events such as motivational tactics, task control and Communications still require a specialist approach even if this has been simplified using technology and a high-speed Internet.

The advantages of employing people on a distance are endless and make your competitive edge easy. Your company can help create a talented team of the best specialists in the market because you can not just hire people from everywhere in the world. This is why a remote employment type will continue to gain momentum in the future. It’s all the challenges that value it.

Remote job is very easy–output, autonomy and flexibility. You influence the manner you operate your team, the smoothness and achievement of the company procedures. And although most individuals still think that remote employees are not as productive as usual in office, the reality of the matter is that most remote employees actually see an increase in productivity equal to a complete additional working day.

So how do you efficiently handle a distant team? How can you contribute to its growth, commitment and coordination? Below are some tips that we have collected to assist you find the response.

TIP 1 – Maintain high performance

If your team scatters throughout the world, productivity can be impacted, unless certain measures are taken to keep it. It is not only difficult to say in a virtual environment how much time your staff spend on assignments and how successful they are, but also it is essential to be evident how the entire team handles the workload.

Therefore, it is essential that a business process is well thought-out and that several software tools are used. Training tools such as Toggl or Clockify can help you to really understand the processes underway, the amount of time spent on these projects, and the number of breaks taken in real time. This allows executives to identify the weaknesses of each worker and attempt to solve them.

This doesn’t imply that you need to overuse these applications and develop stringent procedures. If you work remotely, you are likely to choose this due to the flexibility it provides you. Managers need to strike a balance between liberty and coherent timescales for their staff.

For instance, they must decide which communication instruments they use to discuss issues of great significance–Chat with urgent subjects, Email with stuff to wait and Video Calls. Furthermore, all project information must be available to every member of the team (instruments like Google Drive and DropBox may assist). It must also ensure complete transparency and transparency.

They also need to bear in mind always that distant workers can all operate in distinct time zones, so that everyone can tune in to a video call, it is essential to discover a time window. Also, when employing persons, you need to ensure that your location time differences are not more than 3 hours from the time zone of your office. Due to time differences, for each conference you always have to have a very clear agenda and must stick to it.

Finally, you need to measure the yield to always have your hand on the pulse. Try to list all the main points in the work of each team member that indicate the performance. Set clear objectives with measurable outcomes so you can see clearly what is anticipated and how well your staff are responding to these expectations. Hold monthly reviews in the team to see how all people work together and whether everyone handles them properly.

However, do not be scared to give honest feedback, remember that individuals almost always concentrate more on beneficial than adverse points. This is why executives have to be frank and always attempt to discover something useful at the end.

TIP 2 – Strengthen communication skills

For each team, good communication between employees is essential, but for distant teams in particular. The absence of physical attendance and distinct working schedules can all lead your team members to operate as people instead of a united front.

Remote teams effectively need to interact twice if not three times the ordinary team. And executives must support these communications by creating more possibilities.

Set some of your team’s prompters. Say you always mark the time places if you are on your schedule for calls. Select and ensure your team uses the primary communication instruments. Implement instruments like Slack, WebEx and Skype and let your staff know that they are available all the time. Agree on the duration of an email reply so that you understand when to expect answers to your message.

Try as much as necessary to integrate video calls. IMCCAs have found that, when they actively use video conference instruments, 90% of remote personnel feel more linked with their team. Video enables your team to make a name face and bind better. When you see a individual, it’s always simpler to speak to than just by messaging.

Video calling helps your distant team feel moved and isolated less.

Share your screen with your team members to facilitate and clarify clarifications. Create distinct channels for sharing of interesting stuff, such as fun stories, suggestions for films or updates on TV shows that you all view.

Your purpose is to create a virtual environment that fosters and enhances

communication between your team.

TIP 3 – Engaging, Inspiring And Motivating

The main element of effective teamwork is motivation. Entrepreneur says company costs 450 to $550 billion per year in losses of productivity for an unmotivated or de-engaged employee.

Managers who work with remote teams have to invest in them and work hard every day to increase morality. In distant teams it is even more essential to build a powerful corporate culture than in the physical.

Begin with transparency, one of the basic elements of a driven team. You need to make sure that all of your team know precisely what the business is doing, its goals and its role. Share corporate news and updates, celebrate your own accomplishments and attempt to make your team feel real.

Be frank and let them know you as their leader. Discuss yourselves with them and share your private vision. Describe the stuff you handle at the moment, so they know that you do as difficult as you do. Request your advice on various issues and opinions.

Be in keeping with feedback and with your praise in particular. Don’t just ask them to do a nice job, but to highlight certain accomplishments and duties. In corporate public chats, try also to praise your distant staff for their accomplishments throughout the whole business.

Create your team’s rituals and traditions. Celebrate the birthdays and unique occasions of your distant staff. Why doesn’t every team member ask for a brief video that you wish to edit later and send to your partner celebrating?

Improve camaraderie with true private communication through investments at least once a year in corporate retreats where your distant team can meet in reality.

Find out more here about motivating your team.

TIP 4 – Select your team with wisely

Hiring individuals with the correct distance to work is your halfway to achievement. It’s all about everything else. You can also influence your entire team with a lazy or unprofessional distant worker. This is why certain precautions are essential during the recruitment process.

First and foremost, nobody claims you have to employ the individual from the beginning. Test your skills and abilities for a number of months by employing them part-time and giving them the opportunity to work long term when you’re sure they’re a nice addition to your staff.

Don’t be stingy with salaries. Just because your employee is working remotely doesn’t mean that they aren’t doing more than your typical office worker does. In most cases, remote workers are actually doing more, so their salaries have to reflect this.

Make sure your fresh remote staff can function from home. Do you have a good working environment where you can concentrate without distractions? Otherwise, it may be better to propose either paying for co-working space or buying equipment to build that room at home for them.

Take into consideration that your staff can all come from distinct nations and cultures. Learn how to talk obviously and broadly convey your message. Ask your team in their message to use easy phrases and a neutral tone. Maintain a calendar of all global holidays affecting and planning your team members.

Make sure fresh staff are quick to retire. Create a guide with all the primary information about your job and the instruments you use. Ask your team members to share their finest advice on remote working. Recall the faster the better they adjust.

Managing distance teams can be challenging, but actually you can create a skilled, loyal, hard-working team with a few simple rules to assist your company to succeed.

Being forced to be a MLM down-line by my own parents...

Some background - first of all, I'm a midterm college student currently staying at home for obvious reasons. In recent months my parents have pressured me to start making money, saying "You need to start working on financial independence" or something like that. First off I opened an online shop selling my parents' merchandise clothing (they have actual stores for this one tho, no LLR stuff or whatever). Decided to pull out as academic stuff takes over my life.
As time and the pandemic rolls on, my parents have started hinting on how lazy I am by refusing to earn money on my own, asking "What do you wanna do in your life then to start earning money ?". When I told them I can't restart the online shop just yet because of my college, they then said "okay, we understand your situation" ... Oh, how wrong I was.
Shortly thereafter my mother got ecstatic when she came across an "opportunity" on instagram posted by one of her church friends. We set up a (physical, not that I think its wise) meeting not long after and by the time we arrived I know already - I'm being roped into a MLM by MY OWN PARENTS. For context, the MLM is some sort of forex trading investment company called NET89
I honestly would have refused joining, but with my mother there and my parents' pressure on me I was scared and didn't dare saying 'no' since in this pandemic & amid college sh** I don't have a chance yet to pursue a career, meaning I'm still very much dependent on my parents for sustenance (like most college students where I am - not in the USA, student loans are a foreign concept here). My parents used their personal money to pay for it though.
A few months have gone by since, and with me NOT EVEN MENTIONING the MLM to anyone else and flat-out refusing to support the company in any way I decided to pull out the money from my account. My parents got furious at me, saying "What you've done was an obvious loss", "You're being stupid by acting that way", "All companies may as well be MLMs since they ask consumers to promote them" ...
Yeah, so ... Here I am. Being involved in an obvious scam because of my parents pulling me in without an option to get out of it whatsoever.
What do you think I should do ?
How can I get out of this ?
FYI ; I wish I could look for a job but like I said before, with my college being super busy right now despite being online (they think students are just slacking around at home, thus churning out assignments at breakneck pace) ... I can't, yet.
